New Delhi. Since the early days of the budget session, the leaders of opposition parties have taken a tough stance in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha regarding the peasant movement. In the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday, the leaders of several parties including Congress, BSP, DMK, CPI have given notice of suspension of business to the speaker.
Strict Congress stance
Congress MPs Ghulam Nabi Azad and Anand Sharma walk in Rajya Sabha Notice of suspension of business on the farmers movement. Bahujan Samaj Party, CPI, All India Trinamool Congress, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, have also given notice of suspension of business on the ongoing farmers movement in Rajya Sabha. MPs of all parties have demanded a debate on the peasant movement first.
Let the Center take back the agricultural laws
Let the farmer movement continue throughout the country for about two and a half months. The leaders of peasant associations are adamant on the insistence of agricultural laws. On the other hand the central government is ready to amend the agricultural laws.
